Festivals and Your Outfits

It lives, The bass is the army that it gives.

When we apply the breaks, There’ll be no skids.

Just more elements to continue as we glide.

Festivals are all about the music but also the vibe. Whats the vibe? Its a combination of music, people, set and stage. Different festivals, give a different vibe. Depending on the glue which holds it all together, the style of music often lends its self to a set following. People like me fall in-between the gabs of loving different styles, I used to say if it has a beat I can dance too then am in! Doesn’t matter the style, its all about how it makes you feel when you close your eyes and let the beat flow through you. Music and human nature go all the way back to when we first walked and talked, we lived and communicated through music. Our shared memories where not held on paper but sung down the generations, before paper was invented. Music can be a deeply healing entity. Shaping our lives with out us really acknowledging its presence.

So your thinking about what outfits your going to be wearing once the festivals come alive again? First start with you, many look like they have all walked out of the same factory (as my friend Caroline would comment.) Thats not aways a bad thing, but find you within that factory. A festival can full push the real you out on show.
I came from a background of show girls, and club dancers, so my first festival last year I went for it – still covered up but wow I got mixed comments. I was way over dressed for that festival, but I found my tribe at Boomtown Fair, where nothing is over or under dressed. You could walk around as a full blown show girl or in your Sunday chilled at home look.

Missing getting my outfits ready for this years events, I asked people to share their favourite look – one which they felt most like them selfs in or nailed being comfortable.

Shannon Brannick has got the perfect look down. Hat to keep off the sun, doc marten boots and a pretty dress. Such a simple but effective look. I love how timeless this photo is, is this the 70’s at Woodstock? Perfect Shannon.
